$500 dollar donation to Hawai’i Women in Filmmaking

Empowering Women

The Zonta Club of Oahu (ZCO) supported Making Waves Films LLC, to complete I OF THE WATER: THE UNWRITTEN LIFE OF SIA FIGIEL. This feature documentary illustrates the connections between abuse, food addiction, depression, and suicide through the story of acclaimed Samoan American writer Sia Figiel. Her work shines a light on the often-silenced experiences of Pacific Islander girls.
